Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, sometimes referred to as “acupuncture facelift” or “cosmetic acupuncture” is a timeless beauty technique used in China. For thousands of years, the Chinese have known that beauty comes from the inside. At least as early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD), acupuncture rejuvenation practices were administered to the Empress and the Emperor’s concubines. Today, it is an effective non-surgical way to lessen the appearance of fine lines as well as deeper wrinkles and sagging jowls. According to Chinese medicine, it improves circulation of Qi (chi) and blood and stimulates the body’s natural anti-aging powers. It is a rejuvenation and revitalization process designed to help the whole body look and feel younger.

How many treatments are needed?

A complete course of treatment is 10 to 12 sessions, 1 to 2 sessions per week. The effects become most noticeable and lasting on or about the seventh session. Each person responds differently, depending on his or her condition and lifestyle prior to and during the treatment series. The International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported in a recent study that among 300 people who received facial acupuncture, 90% saw visible results after one treatment. Our experience suggests similar results with patients reporting improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, complexion and overall rejuvenation.

What to expect during a session?

The Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture treatment is based on the principles of Oriental Medicine and involves the insertion of hair-thin needles into particular areas of the face, scalp and body along channels or meridians of energy. Treatments improve muscle tone and dermal contraction, increase collagen production, tightens pores, and increases local circulation of blood and lymph around the face. It can be used to reduce a double chin and sagging jowls, help to decrease inflammation, puffy or droopy eyelids. The treatment involves a combination of acupuncture, facial Tui Na (massage), and herbal facial products.  Each sessions last 75-90mins.
